A Many Splintered Thing features the dark, surrealistic illustrations of Toronto based artist Joey DAMMIT! The work in this book represents three years of drawings, ripped straight out of DAMMIT!’s personal sketchbooks, that explore the beauty and blemishes of the artist’s subconscious. Re-emerging from a long battle with the black dogs of depression, DAMMIT! channeled his somewhat manic energy into these detailed, pen and ink drawings. While previous work focused on famous celebrities, in these works, a new breed of creature emerges. Frankensteinian, hybrid beings, the stuff of nightmares and horror movies, take centre stage.
